How to Enliven Your Foyer

Your foyer is the first thing your guests will see when they walk into your house, so don’t forget that when you’re redecorating. Here are some tips on how you can breathe life into your entrance way.

Set the Tone

As previously stated, the foyer is the first impression guests will get of your home. This gives you the opportunity to set the tone of your house, your way. Put some of your favorite art or accent pieces in the entryway, or display a really beautiful table or chairs, especially if you’re not sure where else to put them. Think about the things that really matter to you, and then find a way to get them across in your foyer.

Staircase Space

Many people have a stairway right off their front door but don’t use the space under the stairs for anything. This can actually be a great place to put a small seating area or to organize your entryway using little cupboards or coat hooks. Using the space under your staircase can open you up to a number of new possibilities you may not have been aware of before.

Splurge a Little

Your foyer is important to the overall look and feel of your home, so it’s okay to splurge when it comes to this area. If you can’t spend too much, choose to invest in one special item like a beautiful rug or an antique vase. You can place these in the entrance way of your home so they’re the first thing your friends and other guests will see when they come inside, allowing you to feel excited to invite others over. Especially if the item is a real find, why waste it in another room where it might not get the attention it deserves?
