Saving Money with LED Bulbs

if you've researched LED bulbs before, you've probably heard that it can save a lot of money in electricity costs. We know we like to tell people this, but we wonder if everyone understands the how, why, and what when it comes to the cost savings.

People around the world are switching over to LED bulbs. These people know that it will save them money. Not only that, they know that it is the right choice when it comes to saving the environment.

When it comes to switching over to LED, many people run away from it. They don't want to spend the money on new bulbs, especially when their incandescent ones are working perfectly fine.

Switching over gradually is one way to do it, so when an incandescent bulbs goes out, it can be replaced with a LED one. While this is a good idea, it's not possible for all situations. The light that comes from each bulb is different, and most people do not like to have a variety of different lights in their home or office.

So, switching over means ditching the bulbs that are working now, buying all new bulbs, and then putting them. But wait a minute - isn't this supposed to save you money?

Well, it still does.

LED bulbs may cost more when it comes to the initial investment, they last much longer than incandescent bulbs. Consumer Reports says that LED light bulbs last 20,000 to 50,000 hours. This is FIVE times longer than other bulbs on the market. This means you won't have to replace them as often as you would incandescent bulbs. So, if you don't have to buy new ones all of the time, you're saving money there as well.

Now, once you do make the switch. You will likely start to see the changes in your electricity bill the very first month. Over 23 years, you would pay about $201 in electricity of incandescent bulbs vs. $38 with LED. WOW! Now, look at that difference. You can't deny that it's a significant difference in price.

Now, if $201 doesn't sound like a lot of money to you, all of this may be something you scoff at. However, this cost savings can be incredibly if you're using a lot of lights. It's the reason why cities are switching over, and why you should too if you are considering using lights for decorative purposes.

When you add up the cost of replacing bulbs and how much lower your electricity bills will be, you will see that LED bulbs are the best choice when it comes to lighting.
